About the Role

ROLE
Ensure that you represent the company at all times in a proper manner in terms of conduct and appearance.
Communicate with fellow managers about any issue that may need appropriate action to improve any aspect of company performance.
Manage integration with other departments in such a way as to encourage a team ethic and a feeling of unity within the company.
Ensure that you and all staff, wherever possible, try and build relationships with clients and stimulate repeat business.

SUPERVISION
Production of method statements and risk assessments as agreed with EA Line Manager.
Manage efficient mobilisation of resources to site and set up site compound in accordance with company procedures and CDM2015 as agreed with EA Line Manager.
Read and understand drawings and specifications.
Manage pre-start surveys as agreed with EA Line Manager.
Carry out site inductions and toolbox talks for all operatives highlighting company and site rules and site specific safety hazards, including checking operative’s safety certificates.
Enforce Company policy on PPE with all operatives, sub-contractors and visitors
Liaise with statutory utility companies regarding diversion and location of existing mains and/or installation of new mains.
Manage the safety, quality and environmental issues on site in accordance with CDM2015, current legislation, regulations, Codes of Practise and company policies.
Interpretation and implementation of Company Management systems – ISO 9001 Quality Management System; ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System.
Full knowledge of the latest EA SHEWCoP. Able to implement and manage all requirements there in.
Request and issue up-dated risk assessments and method statements as works progress.
Control plant, labour and materials usage to avoid cost over runs and wastage.
Manage key time/cost/quality/safety risks to successful delivery of project.
Ensure as-built records/ drawings are created to enable programme to be up-dated in conjunction with EA Line Manager.
Liaise with EA Project Manager or representatives/consultants on site in a professional manner.
Manage plant and materials deliveries to ensure the smooth running of the works.
Responsible for the securing of offices, containers and site boundary at the end of every shift.
Negotiate prices and procure minor materials in accordance with company procedures, as agreed with EA Line Manager.
Monitor subcontractor’s quality/programme/safety performance on a regular basis and advise EA Line Manager of any noncompliance.
Manage quality of work to ensure compliance with specification.
Manage recording of changes via RFI’s and CVI’s and notify the EA Line Manager/QS of effects.
Manage snagging/handover process to ensure no defects at completion
Maintain photographic/contemporary records of progress/delays/unusual occurrences and forward to EA Line Manager /QS.
Record any delay and/or disruption to the works and inform EA Line Manager QS on a regular basis.
Advise EA Line Manager / QS of any commercial/contractual risks to the company.
Represent company at progress meetings in a professional manager, including presenting progress reports and updated programmes as agreed with EA Framework Manager.
Record site data via Site Database system and provide information to QS to produce cost/value reports.
Liaise with EA Line Manager /QS to allow production of monthly valuations, keeping him informed of progress and additional works/delays.
Report any accidents/near misses/service strikes to H&S department.
Manage recording of as-built information including surveys, CCTV, conformance tests, video surveys and test results.
Manage materials/workmanship testing and submission to client
Cancel all utilities in writing (with copy to accounts supervisor), on vacating site.
Produce and submit wage/bonus payments for directly employed staff to Contracts Manager for authorisation.
Produce and submit s/c payments sheets for labour only subcontractors to EA Line Manager for authorisation.
Deal with disciplinary/performance issues via verbal warnings only. Serious breaches to be notified to Contract Manager.
Provide information for Delivery Managers Quarterly Review meetings – Lesson learnt good or bad and Research and Development.
Provide assistance to QS as required to help produce most financially beneficial final account.
Ensure that a “completion of works” walk through is organised with EA supervisor.
